Day surgery and hospital support

Some procedures and hospital visits are straightforward. Others can leave you feeling tired, unsteady, or unsure about managing the trip home on your own.

Steady Companion can help with the practical support around day surgery and hospital care. That might mean travelling with you, waiting with you, helping you get home safely afterwards, and making sure you are settled in comfortably once you are back home.

For some people, it may also mean staying a little longer, or overnight if that support is needed.

This can be helpful if:

• you are having day surgery or treatment and need someone to collect you afterwards
• the hospital or clinic requires that someone stays with you after the procedure
• you would feel more confident with help getting home and settled in
• family or friends are not available to support you
• you need practical, non-medical support while you recover

Support may include:

• travelling with you to and from hospital or treatment
• waiting with you during the day
• helping you get safely inside and settled at home
• helping with light refreshments and practical comfort
• staying nearby for reassurance and support
• overnight support when needed

Steady Companion is not a nursing agency and does not provide medical treatment. Our role is to offer calm, practical, non-medical support so that recovery feels safer, easier, and less overwhelming.
